Do you know what a standard measurement is? It is a way of measuring things specified by country, or group of countries. Inches, gallons, liters, centimeters, etc. There would be a lot of confusion if there wasn’t a standard to work off of.
What is a good way to measure music? If we have a piece of music in front of us, how do we look at it to measure its “goodness.”
Has your measuring tape for measuring music been altered or changed? Is it accurate? If we are constantly adjusting for an error in our tape we’ll eventually make a decision.
We need more than just our feelings about music to use as a measurement of whether music is good, bad, compromised, etc. God gives us preferences, a musical ear, but we need something accurate to measure with.
What kind of tape measure do you think Satan wants you to use? It really doesn’t matter to him, as long as it isn’t accurate. Not all things that are evil are openly evil.
