The Problem of Man
Man naturally has a problem.
The nature of man is not a good and kind nature, but rather a nature that tends toward evil, selfishness, proud, and many other things. The problem is a problem of two wills. The horse has a will of his own and his owner has a will of his own. God has a will and a plan for our lives, but we have our own will that cannot see the full picture and we often do the things that “gives us control.”
God calls us to submit in many areas. We will answer to God for how we respond to the authority that is set up over us. Those who are in authority over us will also answer to God for how they carry out their authority. There are many ways to submit.
Submitting to the spirit of the authorities desire.
Striving to do the best thing that we can do with what we have been told to do. For the guy on the job it could be trying to best understand the instructions that were given and doing it thoroughly.
The Christian is called to submit from the heart as unto the Lord. A joyful servant. A grateful person, thankful to be a servant of the Lord Jesus.
The heart of what is true submission is the sacrificing of what I want and desire and would do myself and giving it all to God. We should do our jobs and live our lives by doing the will of God for the strengthening of our hearts.
