All Anabaptist beliefs intersect in the way Anabaptists do church. In their view of the church, we see their understanding of salvation (saints), baptism (believers), relation to sinners and society (separated), their sense of responsibility for each other (disciplined and shared goods), and their commitment to shared values, space, goals, and commitments. For Anabaptists, a disciplined brotherhood was the result of accepting a common understanding of what it means to be a believer and live the Christian life in the present world at a given time in history, and then to hold one another accountable to that understanding.
The purpose of the church is to evangelize, to baptize adult believers, to celebrate the Lord’s Supper, to disciple one another, and to worship God.
