Self, sin and Satan are all the same thing. The Lord God is the only other choice.

Daniel 3:28 – These men were willing to die rather than worship any god besides the God they knew.
1 Samuel 3:10 – If we are going to be children of God we must be yielded.
Isaiah 6:8 – Here am I, send me.
Acts 9 – “Lord, what would you have me to do?”
Luke 5:8 – Peter knew all there was to know about fishing. Peter knew that it made no sense to try again… but it wasn’t just any carpenter… this was Jesus. He threw the net because Jesus asked him to.
Luke 22 – Jesus in the garden, knowing how much pain would be coming his way prayed “not my will, but thine be done.”
Psalm 19:9 – The keeping of the commandments of the Lord promises great reward. Obedience, a characteristic of a surrendered servant.
Hebrews 9 – To have our consciences purged by the blood of Christ.
Romans 12 – A transformed mind.
David understood that the mind was important, having a willing mind and perfect heart was important.
Philippians 2 – Being a servant means having a mind that is like that of Jesus. It will cause us to shine like “stars in the universe.”
Can being a servant really be done with joy? Looking at these characters that we’ve mentioned this morning it is clear that yes, we can have joy and serve others and Christ at the same time.
Matthew 25 – You’ve been faithful… enter into the joy of the Lord.
