Hebrews 11 – Faith, “the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things not seen.”
Faith is one of, if not the, most important things we need for pleasing God.
- What does it mean to “believe that God is?”
- How does faith make it possible to please God?
- What does it take to please God?
- How much faith does it take to please God?
- Am I pleasing God? If I’m not what part does faith play there?
- How do I get faith?
Faith is in God, and in the things that he said. The promises that he has given. Things that God has said are true that cannot be proven rationally or through a scientific method.
In some things we often find ourselves having a fair amount of faith, but then there are often other parts of our lives that don’t experience the same sort of faith.
Exodus 14 – Fear not. God is going to do something. We may not know exactly what, but God is up to something!
Exodus 32 and 33 – Moses went up on the mountain, God told him that he had a problem. “Your people are down there worshiping a golden calf.” Moses plead with God for these people. Moses had a lot of faith to be able to beg God to be present with him. We cannot live life, we cannot go on and do well without God.
The need to make sense of things and explanations for everything so that we can be ok with them… as valid as this is, too much of this can be harmful to faith. We often attribute things to God and make him responsible for things that he has nothing to do with, at times even things that are works of the devil.
When we put our faith in people we often are disappointed. People aren’t God. Our faith has to be in God. God always has a good purpose in mind.
God… keep us and work with us…
