Life has many twists and turns. We will face many difficult things. How can we be prepared?
God has a plan, a reason for what is happening.
This morning we will be looking at some of the tools that Daniel used when he faced difficulty.
He was there to stay:
Daniel 1:21 “And Daniel continued until the first year of Cyrus.”
Daniel 2:49 “But Daniel made request of the king…”
Daniel 6:28 “…Daniel prospered…”
Daniel 12:13 “Thou shalt rest and stand in thy lot…”
Daniel’s difficult youthful circumstances came on him through no fault of his own. He could have been bitter and complained. Instead he kept his relationship with God and did well, even in difficult circumstances.
Daniel’s Tools:
Daniel had an excellent spirit
Daniel 6:3; Romans 8:9-11 – Daniel had an attitude of prayer
Daniel 2:17, 18, 20-23 – We see him fasting, praying and seeking God.
Daniel had good and godly friends
Proverbs 18:24 – There is strength, encouragement, prayer support, and mentoring to be found in good friendships.
Daniel modeled humility
Daniel 9:3-11,19 – He never bragged about his own ability, but he did brag about God’s!
Daniel trusted that God was ultimately in control, and remained humble and faithful.
Daniel 12:13 – “But as for you, go your way to the end; then you will enter into rest and rise again for your allotted portion at the end of the age”
