To be like Christ is the highest attainment of every Christian. To have His image formed in our lives is Christ’s will and requires yielding to Christ.
I John 3:22-24 Answered prayer is the result of doing what pleases Christ and loving one another. You don’t know a person until you have prayed with them. Prayerlessness and faithlessness go together.
Where is God when you pray? Many people believe that they are praying in order to overcome God’s reluctance to do something. God is right here, not far off in heaven. If we belong to God, what we want done He wants done too. Prayer begins in the heart of God and God puts His prayer in our heart. God hears us because we belong to Jesus. We do not have to fix ourselves before we pray. We can be true as we pray. We need to just tell God what is true.
We need to pray out of what will bring glory to God, not what will achieve some selfish goal. We pray out of assurance of faith, and it helps if several people agree on how to pray for something. We need to ask ourselves how Jesus would pray about this. How would Jesus present your need to the Father in prayer?
A broken heart will find audience with God. After we pray, we need to do something about it.
