Hebrews 3:1-19

Let us focus in on Christ this morning in a worshipful way. It is often difficult to push away the things of life and this world and really focus on Christ, but our prayer this morning is to do this.

Hebrews was written to show the supremacy of Christ. The writer seems to be addressing the Hebrews.

Exodus 32:1-14

How long does it take for us to develop a heart of unbelief? Moses interceded for the Children of Israel. God did judge them, but he didn’t wipe them out.

Numbers 14:2 – The Children of Israel had been on the way to Canaan for some time. After Moses had sent the spies into Canaan the people were quite afraid. They even went so far as to decide to go back to Egypt.

As a society we’ve rejected God as the author and creator of us and of our universe. We are living in perilous times, times when it seems that we are being pressed and attacked, pushed to be something less than what being in the image of God would call us to be.

Let us not become calloused by the pushing in of the world around us. Let us not become hardened to sin.

It is often to start a project than it is to finish it. The Christian life is often like that too. God is asking us to put in the work with him on the project of our spiritual lives. To be faithful. To have confidence.

Hebrews 1:1-3

Jesus is the one we are serving this morning. What should be our response to his sacrifice? The greatest sacrifice ever given?

1 Corinthians 11:23-34 – Our response is to remember. Christian communion should be a way of life for us. Not something that we do twice a year or four times a year or weekly. It is a way of life.

This morning as we share this time together, let us consider and adore our Savior for what he has done for us. He is so great. He is the greatest. The Alpha. The Omega.
