Text: Mark 11:12 – 14, 20 – 26
Lessons of the Fig Tree
- Faith in God Who hears… Life is full of difficulties, “mountains” that must be overcome like suffering and loss. Christian prayer is not superstitious. It is not faith in the prayer, but in God to Whom we pray. (1 Peter 3:12) (1 Peter 5:6,7) (James 1:1-7; 5:14,15)
- Righteousness in relationships The prayers of the selfish are unproductive and largely ineffective. But the fervent prayer of a righteous man makes the great power of God available. (James 5:16) (1 John 3:22) (Mark 11:25)
