Jesus is making a masterpiece of you and me.
I pray that you can stop and think on the journey of all the grace that God is pouring out on us. God has a plan for each person— He wants to work His work in everyone. We just need to cooperate.
This is such a hopeful verse. We are not yet to the goal.
We all are ‘a piece of work’; We all need a Savior.
I’d like to talk about this journey. Where are we on the road?
We were dead in sins, but now we are alive in Christ— but we are not home yet. We have started, but we have not come to the last mile.
1-2 The greeting
Grace is God’s favor and resources.
3-8 The work of God
The work here is God’s finished product; It’s what is happening in our hearts through the grace of God.
This is a GOOD work. With all His love, and power, it will be a good work.
An important component of this work is sharing the gospel.
9-11 The love of God
Instead of all this sin and guilt, we are filled with the fruits of righteousness. All this is that God is glorified.
The reason I can be hopeful, the reason I can go on, is because of Jesus. This is His work.
We can partner with this work of God through prayer. It is an amazing opportunity to join in with this work, even in distant countries.
Activities to draw us together for the Gospel:
1) praying together
2) witnessing together
3) suffering together
