The seven areas of vision are worshiping, teaching biblical doctrine, proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, providing belonging and fellowship, making disciples, experiencing the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, and identifying gifts and providing opportunities for ministry.
Worshiping is a primary mission of the church. God is unique, the only one of His kind, in contrast to the many gods of the heathen. Reading, expounding the Word of God, singing, and praying are essential activities of a healthy church.
Teaching biblical doctrine would ideally first happen at home. Teaching all age groups in our church requires wisdom and appropriate methods. We need to find ways to help people know that the presence of Jesus is working in them during temptations and overwhelming circumstances.
Proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ so that all people groups may hear of his redemption is an essential activity of the church.
Providing belonging and fellowship would include hospitality, being friendly to everyone we meet, fellowship evenings when we play together, work evenings when we work together, and youth activities for the youth.
Making disciples takes place over time. It includes both mission activities and activities that help believers grow. Christian maturity is a lifelong process that requires patience and faithfulness week after week.
Experiencing the presence and power of the Holy Spirit – A person does not have to be focused on the Holy Spirit in order for the Holy Spirit to be present ministering to us.
Identifying gifts and providing opportunities for ministry – we need to put forth more effort to hear and understand people’s desires and giftings, things they would like to do if they had the opportunity. Are we fully invested in the mission and activities of our church?
