I Thessalonians 2:13-20; 3:1-11

We continue our study through the book of First Thessalonians. Today’s passage focuses on the perseverance of this church and Paul’s love for them— his “hope”, “joy”, and “crown” (v.19).

Paul cared about discipling the Churches that he started. He was aware of the needs they had, and did what it took to strengthen them in their faith. This isn’t always easy, but the Church needs such people.

Acts 20:19,35

We have no shortage of stress in our lives… but what we need to be “stressed out about” is the spiritual welfare of people. That should be the focus of our lives.

With this investment in others comes deep joy.

3 John 1:4 – If Jesus would ask you on the day of judgement, “whose life did you impact for me?,” how would we answer? How would have the Thessalonians have fared if Paul had not poured his life into theirs?

May we follow Paul’s example- as he followed the example of Jesus.
