Philippians 2:5-11 – Jesus became obedient, even to death on the cross.
At some point in your life you will become aware that the only relationship that really matters is the one that we can have with Jesus. The Easter story is one of love, humility, obedience, scorn, blood, death, spiritual life, and many other things.
We often want to know “what the bottom line” of something is. The bottom line of life is Jesus and knowing him.
Psalm 22:11-21, Isaiah 53 – There is nothing as vulnerable as a sheep on the sheering table. This is exactly how Christ appears in this scripture.
Luke 22:42 – What does the crucifixion mean for us? We are the offenders, we have rebelled against God, against our maker.
Genesis 3 – Adam and Eve were banished from the Garden of Eden.
Hebrews 7 – Life is nothing more than vanity unless we have the power of Christ in our hearts. It is vital.
Colossians 1:16-18 – Who else, besides Jesus would be worthy to have all of these things be said of him? There is no one. Christ is the only one who deserves it and receives it.
Isaiah 11:1-10, Matthew 13 – There is forever alienation between us and God. Jesus is the only thing that can bridge the divide that exists between us and a righteous and Holy God.
We are living in the shadow of death. We can live in life despite the surrounding darkness. This is only because of Jesus, his work on the cross and subsequent resurrection.
