Acts 1:3 says Christ “presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs.” I Cor. 15 says Christ was seen by many people after the resurrection, and if Christ had not risen our faith would be in vain.
A major truth in the sermons in Acts is that Christ is risen from the dead (Acts 2:22-24; 3:13-15). Jesus said he is the resurrection and the life (Jn. 11:11ff).
Critics of the resurrection have promoted various theories to discredit the resurrection, but none of these can withstand reason and Scripture.
The future resurrection of believers from the grave will be a physical, bodily resurrection. Believers will not be spirits floating in space.
We need to ponder the meaning of the resurrection for our personal lives. The resurrection is the foundation of our present spiritual life in Christ, the basis of our present victory, the basis for being changed into the image of Christ, and the basis for our present hope without fear that we will experience a bodily resurrection after death.
