When we stop hearing and we stop doing – we stop walking with him. The time is here and the time is now. If we don’t act on what we hear the urgency goes away. Here we are and if “it” still isn’t done, the best time to do it is today. If God has been showing you something, take care of it now. Today is the best day to do it.
Romans 1:16 – As believers we have something that the world around us really needs. The power of the gospel hasn’t changed and it will not change. How about our conviction? Does this gospel have the power to change lives?
We are recipients of the gospel for our needs. We are also recipients of the gospel to share it with those around us.
We often miss opportunities because we aren’t looking for them. Failure stings and it can last for a long time. When the day of reckoning comes there will be rejoicing, but there will also be some missed opportunities that will be remembered. We need to be cranking… not cranky, but cranking the seed of the gospel daily upon the soil that we come into contact with.
Genesis 1:12 – Everything that has physical life either reproduces or dies out. Flowers. Animals. People. Trees. Etc.
John 15:16, Galatians 5 – There comes a time when our lives are meant to produce fruit – the evidence of God’s life in us. God’s nature should be evident in all aspects of our lives. People need to see that the fruit in our lives is a result of a life lived with Jesus.
In every life there is a seed. In each of us is the potential to bear fruit and produce a seed with the power to germinate and grow in the life of others. Humility and love are fruits. In these fruits is a seed that has the potential to germinate.
Genesis – Our desire should be to be fruit bearing Christians, influencing, helping and growing the kingdom of God.
2 Corinthians 10:4 – When our zeal is stirred we often think of ways to find more support and start something. Perhaps it isn’t a matter of better funding or new methods, but rather recognizing the spiritual aspect of the battle.
2 Corinthians 3:12-15 – The light that shines on the world has one source. The same thing is true for Christians, the light of Jesus has to be what is doing the work.
2 Corinthians 4:1-4 – Our lives should bring people to a place of decision. Conviction can only happen when light shines into hearts and into their souls.
The biggest hindrance to the gospel is the spiritual veil that can be put up. This veil can lie across the mind of the unbeliever. It can also lie with the believer as well.
As believers living in a physical world we are also dealing with spiritual realities that can either hinder or enhance our spiritual work in a physical environment.
2 Corinthians 4:7 – We cannot ignore the power of a life that is given to the Lord and exemplified by pure, honest living. All of us are earthen vessels, but the power comes from the source inside of us.
Jeremiah 15:19 – How would it be if when we spoke to someone, they would tremble as if God himself was speaking to them? We need to do maintenance in our lives, take those things out that don’t please the Lord and encouraging those things that do.
We often miss the importance of prayer.
John 12:24 – Missions are a chance to die. – Amy Carmichael – We are not called just to sow the seed, we are also called to be the seed. The most fertile ground there is, is the ground where we are called to be sowing.
