Free From the Law of Sin and Death
Romans 7, it is built around three rhetorical questions.
- Know ye not that the law has dominion over man as long as he lives?
- Is the law sin?
- Was that which is good made death unto me?
We are freed by the dominion of sin by Gods divine enabling power of grace!
None of us can live a victorious Christian life in our own strength.
Romans 8 is a picture of the “normal” Christian life.
We don’t have to respond to the flesh in a positive way. We can through the spirit put to death the deeds of the body.
What Does the Christian Life Look Like
A victorious life is possible through Jesus Christ.
It is vital that we understand the truth here in 8:2. Imagine yourself being able to tap into this kind of spiritual power. What kind of life would you live if you were tapped in to that spiritual energy when you are depressed or discouraged or confronted with a sin that easily besets you?
The law of life in Christ Jesus supersedes the law of sin and death in the same way that the law of aerodynamics can overcome the law of gravity. Not only does it overcome the law of sin, it goes above and allows us to overcome it!
