This sermon – Syria Learns About God – was originally preached 2012.10.28 by Jerrill Schrock.
Passages used: 1 John 4::1-8, 2 Kings 5:1-3, 10-…, 2 Kings 6:8-…, 2 Kings 7:6.
God is gracious. He wants to work with people and He wants to see them grow.
God’s power cannot be measured. Natural strengths can be anticipated, they can be measured, but the power of God cannot be anticipated or measured or prepared for. No weapon can mitigate God’s power.
God is greater in us than he who is in the world.
One of the ways that God teaches people about Himself is through people – through those who serve Him.
There is no route to restoration with God except for humility and brokeness.
Do we learn about God as He works in the lives of those who don’t know him? We should.
It is not about us – it is about God and Jesus and His work.
You may have all the world, but give me Jesus!
