This death has rocked us to the core.
Young person, old person, all of us in between. If you’re gambling with the decision of whether to accept Christ as your Savior, you’re making a huge mistake.
John 11 – Lazerus died and his sisters said, “Lord if you had been here our brother wouldn’t have died.” Mary, when she said this, fell at the feet of Jesus. That is where we need to be in the midst of our pain too.
What do you do when you’re in trouble and don’t have the power to fix it? We all have a death sentence hanging over us. No amount of money, or anything that we can do to earn freedom from this death sentence. Adam and eve tried to hide, they couldn’t… it won’t work now either.
Do you want justice? Its something that the world talks about today, getting what you deserve. If any of us are honest we have to admit that we don’t want justice, we don’t want what deserve. What we long for is grace, unmerited favor. A just God, unable to be unjust in even the slightest has provided a way to receive complete and full grace for our sin problem.
We need an advocate, a go between to help us bridge the gap between the justice of a holy God and the justice that should be required for us in our current unholy state.
Colossians 1:15, Hebrews 1 – Jesus is the best lawyer that we can have. He is qualified.
John 8 – Before Abraham was, “I am.” Jesus holds all things together, He is actively involved in things today.
Jesus can present us holy and without accusation. That is incredible. Beyond the ability of us to comprehend.
Jesus forces himself on no one. We have to chose him. Why on earth wouldn’t we?
