You have died an earthly death; And you now have a heavenly life hidden in Christ. As we have put our faith in Jesus, we die and are raised with Him.
You are now reconciled with God… It is an incredible privilege to belong to Jesus.
We needed a death and a resurrection that we couldn’t do on our own. Jesus went through it for us, and His death and resurrection become our own.
1) Experiencing Jesus’ death and resurrection have enabled you to have a heavenly life
2) We need new goals in our new life
We need to decide what we will pursue and where we will invest. We need eternally focused goals.
What should these goals be? It could be “mundane” things; things like supporting your church, helping others, or honoring your parents. The most important goal of all is to know Jesus. Make the choice Mary made— it will not be taken away from you.
Remember, Christ is your life. He is all and in all. There is a wealth that comes from knowing Christ.
Get to know Jesus well.
We must never forget the privilege of having Jesus as a Master.
3) Put off earthly behaviors
A. Jesus says not to do them
B. It hinders the work of Christ
C. They bring the wrath of God on those that practice them
How do we put off these behaviors?
A. Decide to put them to death
B. Deal with them thoroughly
They must be put to death — a zero tolerance policy
Satan wants you to think that if you are struggling you are not a Christian.
Satan wants you to think that Jesus no longer love you if you fail. Satan wants to trip you up.
4) Your new family, is not a group of perfect people
This is not a perfect group of Christians,
This new family group is sustained and created by the grace of God
Christ is why we forgive each other. Christ is the source of all wisdom and peace for the family of God.
