The source of the church’s power is Jesus Christ. In the early church Christians were not afraid to die. People saw this faith lived out as they watched martyrs die and they wanted this kind of strong faith. The result was that the early church grew and spread. We also have this same power today because of the one who is leading us.

We have the Holy Spirit which empowers us. The power of the church is not focused on signs and wonders but God used signs and wonders to bring Himself glory and grow the church. Miracles were not the main thrust of the Gospel. But God’s power cannot be minimized. He is still doing miracles today. Many people are abusing the power of the Gospel by the exploitation of miracles and making a profit from doing so.

The power of Christ in the church is unlimited. He has promised to give us exceedingly above what we ask and think.

The church has power to bear witness, a power that is moving throughout the world.

God works through the church with the power of God to salvation. The differences between groups are leveled. There are no differences between Jews, Romans, and Greeks.

There is the power of unlimited love. We keep serving Jesus because of his continual love for us.

It is healthy for the church to tell us some of what we should and should not do.

We cannot have the attitude that God needs to do what we ask which is a pagan way of looking at it.

We have the power of praise. We should live with joy. The early church had nothing but they lived joyfully.

The church has the power to endure. Let us hold fast to our faith…

The church body has strength because God has given us a brotherhood.
