What is spiritual and emotional heath? A brief answer is that a spiritually and emotionally healthy person possesses a healthy view of self as being created in God’s image and valuable; possesses a healthy view of self as broken and needy; possesses a healthy relationship with God and others.

Every community of people has a culture of change. Every community has beliefs, attitudes, assumptions and actions surrounding how to help people grow. These positions may be helpful or unhelpful, correct or incorrect.

Spiritual transformation and growth is the subject of many passages of Scripture. Rom. 12:1-2 speaks of transformation as a metamorphosis. This change happens as the mind is renewed and results in a person being able to test and approve the will of God and reach the goal for which they were created. According to Luke 9:23-26, the Christian life is rooted in surrender to Jesus Christ and a willingness to suffer in order to do what pleases Christ. II Cor. 3:18 speaks of transformation as beholding the face of Christ in order to be changed into Christ’s likeness.
