What might look bad to us in this new year, may be something that God is using for our eternal good.
God wants what is good for us – on His terms and by what He sees.
God does not look at the here and now in the same way that we do! He sees all time, past, present and future with equal clarity. We must rely on Him and His view of what is good for us.
Hearken – listening with the intent to obey. This is a word that Moses uses repeatedly throughout Deuteronomy.
We have a new year ahead of us. How can we prepare to Hear and Obey the word of the Lord.
Moses knows that the Children of Israel were going on without him. He wanted to share very clearly with them that they needed, above all to Hearken to voice of God.
The way we live our lives makes a difference for those who are coming along behind us. Those who have gone before us have made our road much of what it is today, for good or for bad.
If we suffer wrong, let us suffer for God’s glory.
Let us not forget that the choices that we make affect others. They affect our families. They affect our Church. They go farther than we think.
God has life and blessing ahead for us if we head His voice and hearken to His voice. Let us, each one, hearken to God’s voice.
