Reasons for headship order and veiling for women:

1. This order was established at creation, and the veiling symbolizes this order. The order: God is the head of Christ, Christ is the head of man, man is the head of woman. The covered head implies subjection to some visible authority. The woman’s authority is the visible man. Christ, the man’s head, is not present; therefore, the man should not have his head covered.
2. A woman should be veiled because of the angels.
3. A woman should be veiled because of nature.

These verses speak of two coverings for women: the long hair and the veiling that is a symbol and covers the hair.

What does headship look like between the Father and Christ, and what does it look like between man and woman? Christ being under the authority of the Father did not mean mindless, helpless, non-participation in decisions or knowing. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit were in perfect harmony and had equal value but different functions. Men and women are equal in value and spirituality, but they have different functions. The woman is under the man’s authority, but she is a co-partner and not a slave. It is sin for a man to tell a woman that she is stupid because her brain and heart, her reasoning and emotions function differently than a man’s.
