Ephesians 4:7-16, Romans 12:4-6, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11
In order to give us gifts, Christ had to come down from heaven, die, rise from the grave and ascend back into heaven.
Why We Need to Be Involved in Our Church
If the Holy Spirit lives in you, you are a gifted person. Maybe you don’t feel like you have something special to offer all the time… but you do.
What Jesus has given you is valuable, Jesus is not a stingy giver. He knows you better than anyone and has created you for a special purpose.
If the price of these gifts that we have received was Jesus coming to earth and dying on the cross… that is a very expensive gift. We need to show appreciation for these gifts by allowing God to use us and our gifts.
You Have Been Called
1 Peter 4:8-11 – Everyone is called to the ministry. This isn’t something that just applies to those who lead our services and open the word and preach from it. This applies to all of us.
Galatians 6:1 – You who are spiritual…
Your Church Needs You
The growth of the church body is directly related to how all of the pieces of the body are working properly together. Are we going to get to the place where everyone is just pouring themselves into the church? Probably not, but its definitely a good way to be heading.
The church needs you because you have a unique combination of gifts.
A church is a lot like a football team. You need both the offensive linemen and the wide receivers. No good football team is made up of just linemen or just wide receivers.
If you have unique abilities and are not contributing to our church… the church is missing out.
The body needs you, but you need the body even more – God’s design is for us to grow up together.
