Genesis 1 – 3

This is a review for us. First of all about who we are as a people in God’s sight because of what happened in the garden shortly after creation and then how we can be restored to a good relationship with our God.

Man was made in God’s image. Male and Female. God blessed them and they multiplied. Things were perfect.

Then there was a temptation. The serpent convinced the woman and the man to eat the fruit that was the one thing they weren’t supposed to eat.

There was the sin. Adam and Eve chose to eat the fruit of the tree.

Then there was a judgement set for Adam and Eve.

Then there was a mercy. God moved Adam and Eve out of the garden and placed cherubim to keep the way of the tree of life. If they ate of the tree of life they would live for ever… that would have left him trapped in continual death… God in his mercy shut off the access to tree of life.

Stepping forward we see Jesus on the earth. Healing the sick. Giving hope to mankind. God didn’t want to leave man in the state when he left the garden and He didn’t.

Hebrews 9:22-28, Matthew 6:26, Romans 5:5 – sin entered the world and caused death… Christ is the only remedy for our dilemma.
