Romans 11:33-36, Romans 12:2, Psalm 4:1, Titus 3:5, Ephesians 5:25
The unsearchable riches of God should not be left unexplored; Part of man’s uniqueness is being created in the image of God. This allows us to think and contemplate the “depths of the riches of God.”
“Inexhaustible fullness” of God’s wisdom.
3 Questions – Romans 11:34-35
God is the source of everything good, He is the “Object” that everything is made “for….”
Paul calls us to total and complete consecration. With this call, Paul begins his teaching on practical godly living for Paul, Theology is not separated from life.
He doesn’t command – he appeals: “I beseech you!”
We can’t have our lives transformed by God, and remain passive about God.
Paul gives us three imperatives.
- Present your bodies to God. The body is an integral part of who I am.
- Be not conformed to this world. We are not to outwardly fashion ourselves to the entertainment or lifestyle of the world. We are called to live “counter-culturally,” not to be different, but because it is utterly incongruent with the Gospel.
- Be ye transformed. This is an ongoing process. We are being acted upon, and cannot transform ourselves. We are not passive in this transformation.
The Holy Spirit uses us in this transformation, as our minds are renewed. This will lead us to be in conflict with the cultural norms of this evil age.
