Joseph is in prison along with the chief cupbearer and chief baker. He has been put in charge of everything that goes on there as well as in charge of the prisoners. When Joseph saw that the cupbearer and baker both looked dejected he asked them why they were sad. They each had dreams that they couldn’t understand. Joseph was able to interpret the dreams. He asked them to please remember him when they are released from prison. Neither one of them remembered and Joseph’s interpretation of their dreams was fulfilled. This encounter with Joseph was not by chance. God had it orchestrated.
God knows our future. We are in exile in a country that is not our home. We are looking forward to our heavenly home. Can we believe in God even if we have a hard path? Impurities come out by tests and trials.
God was in control of the cupbearer, baker, Joseph and Pharaoh. Joseph spent years in prison before he was released. Joseph spoke truth to them. We need to speak the truth even if it is hard.
The cupbearer and baker forgot Joseph but God will never forget us. What is God’s purpose in our circumstances? God is committed to us, He will never leave us or forsake us. God is always working in our waiting. We want to reflect the Father to others around us.
