Our eternal home will feel like home – John calls it a new earth. It will feel good and familiar. There was nothing wrong with God’s original plan; He is completing it, not throwing it away.

We can look forward to deliverance from fear and evil. Carefree children can remind us that this is the way things were meant to be.

We can look forward to complete healing – physical, emotional, and mental. We will have a physical body, but it will be incorruptible like Jesus’ body.

We can look forward to fulfilling activity: the passage suggests coming and going, kings and nations, worship and service. The concepts of reigning and having dominion also suggest activity.

We can look forward to the full presence of God – even now God is present and attentive, but we often sense it dimly. In our eternal home we will see Him face to face and experience His presence wherever we are. This will be the best part of heaven.
