Joy is the infallible evidence of God’s grace in life.
The beatitudes don’t leave us staring at the heavens but at a scared and messed up humanity. The Lord really wants to perfect us.
We empty ourselves to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Does the Spirit get all of you when you become a Christian?
The joyful warrior embraces peacemaking. Some people believe peacemaking is always being nice and telling everyone to calm down. A person that does that is a peace lover, but he isn’t a peacemaker. A peacemaker faces difficulty head-on.
We are not called the sons of God in this list of beatitudes until we begin to have an effect on the world around us. This is not an easy task.
Christ did not come to make life easy but to make men great.
Tribulation works patience, as you experience tribulations you get more and more patience to continue to go on. The final result of tribulation is a great ability to love.
So, are we willing to be peacemakers? Are we willing to face the clash between the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of the world?
The Kingdom on display – The Bible says that we should show off the praises of Him who has called us out of the darkness! We all have a desire to make a difference, to have some influence. This is a God-given desire.
We have to be salt before we can be light. We have too many people who want to be a light before they let the salt have its effect.
The only way that salt loses its saltiness is if it gets mixed with something else. So, what are some things that can get into this mixture? Individualism. Selfishness. Don’t blend with the group.
If we can get ourselves out of the way we’ll be much closer to gelassenheit. Individualism is the greatest threat to our churches today.
The Christian is still thankful no matter what the circumstances, he is filled with the Spirit and experiences a positive attitude in every situation.
It is lawlessness that causes people to cool off spiritually.
The world is a full course meal, if you want any of it you will eventually get all of it.
