Our goal this morning is to stir up our hearts and minds to understand the true meaning in life.
There are many things that can be distractions in our lives. Church problems, health problems, personal problems, etc.
John 14:1-7 – Jesus tells us that He is the way, the truth and the life. This morning we want to focus on Jesus as “the way.”
Often as we read this passage we think about heaven, and the mansions that God is building for us. John tells us more about that place in Revelation.
Jesus is talking about more than just a heavenly place made with gold. He is talking about a place of abiding, a place of dwelling. There are many dwelling places, this is something for everyone.
What makes heaven heaven is our abiding with God. This abiding with God isn’t something that happens when we get to heaven, it starts at conversion.
Where was Jesus “going?” This is just before Jesus went to the cross. Jesus was making a way, making the way, for us to abide in Him and dwell with Him.
Let us be busy while we are here on earth, but let’s be ready to go when our time comes! Let’s not miss Jesus when He comes to get us.
How can we be in this way, and be abiding in Christ? What does it look like to believe in Jesus?
What is a childlike faith? Sometimes we know too much, and we don’t believe God because of that. Sometimes we are filling our minds with things that aren’t all that important in a heavenly perspective.
What about trusting the Father even when we feel insecurities along the way or when problems arise because of errors caused by other people.
There are counterfeit securities. If we believe God we can’t get wrapped up in the counterfeit security of things that keep us from following Jesus all the way?
What is the way? Is it about believing? There is no belief that doesn’t affect the outcome of our lives, or how we live. If it is a true belief we’ll do something about it, allowing it to be part of our lives.
We want to be followers of Jesus! Following Jesus is following Him to the cross so that we might have new life.
