We have an enemy whose purpose is to steal, kill and destroy. He is an enemy with limitations and boundaries that he isn’t able to cross. Our enemy knows our weak points and he tries to capitalize on those.
Paul tells us that we can’t give any ground to Satan, when we do we give him a place to set up camp, a place to start building and eventually take over more and more territory, with the end goal of overthrowing us completely.
Defeat
At a very young age, when learning to walk even, we have to deal with falling down. Even as older folks we occasionally experience physical falling.
Falling in a spiritual sense is also a part of life. When we do, we need to ask God to forgive our sins.
Proverbs – Sometimes, in our own humanness we see someone who maybe have a problem fall, we almost feel like it serves them right. This isn’t right…
We need to walk within the boundaries that God has given us for our own good.
Humility is a very important attitude for us to have in our christian lives.
Victory
The God that we serve loves us and cares about us, even when we fall!
The cross is a place of new beginnings. We can come back to the cross and start again.
2 Peter 1, 1 Samuel 4 – Victory depends on a close and continual walk with God. If we walk in the light as he is in the light, we can have fellowship with the Father.
Hebrews – Our faith in Christ gives us the hope of future victory and the strength to find victory in our daily lives.
