We all want to be relevant in our churches.
Something more important than being relevant to being relative in the culture – it’s being relevant in the Kingdom of God. And when we are relevant in the Kingdom of God we are relevant in the culture.
If we are going to be Christians of influence, it’s important to understand what values & principles you are going to influence people with.
Today we see a Christianity without a Cross and without a loss. We are not here to live for the American Dream. We are here to embrace, promote, and call others to live for the values of the Kingdom of the Heaven – and it is very opposite to what most other people are living.
Your primary duty as a Christian is to be relevant to the Kingdom of God.
John 3:3-5
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
Unless you have had your heart changed – unless the life flows in…But when you have been born again you can see the Kingdom of God.
Being born again gives me immediate citizenship in the Kingdom of Heaven. You have your green card. You are guaranteed a residence in Heaven eventually.
Citizenship requires loyalty.
The biggest difference between popular Christianity and Christ’s Christianity:
In popular Christianity: Being saved is the the purpose of salvation.
In Christ’s Christianity: Living for the Kingdom of Heaven is the purpose of Salvation.
The Constitution of the Kingdom
A born again Christian has the attitudes of the beatitudes.
