Our Savior Has Come
Luke 1:67-80
Man is lost and needs to be rescued. He needs a savior.
Mankind is facing an awful enemy and awful circumstances if he is left unsaved. But there is an opportunity by which we can be made holy and righteous, receiving remission of sins.
Many people don’t realize their situations. Many people love darkness instead of light. They don’t know that the end of these pursuits is death and destruction.
There is, and was, a great need.
Man without a savior is lost.
But there is a great savior. This is what brought such a joy when Jesus was born.
We have a great savior.
Many people responded to this great savior when he was born.

- Joseph and Mary
Luke 7:36-50
This woman knew that she was a sinner, that without a savior she was lost.
She found the savior.
As long as she kept in mind the day that she met Jesus, the salvation that she had found must have stirred in her a desire to follow him for the rest of her life, to please him. She could live a new life, forgiven and changed.
1 John 3
We are grateful because we are forgiven and cleansed. We are delivered and can live a new life.
We are all equally lost. Maybe some of us have done worse things than others… but we all need a savior, just as much as every other person.
How clearly do we see the condition that we were in? How clearly do we see the dangers around us and within us? How devoted are we to pleasing and obeying the one who has saved us?
Thanks be to God for His unspeakable gift.
We were in terrible shape and we needed a redeemer. We still need a redeemer.
We have a great and wonderful savior. Let us respond to him. Let us be thankful to him.
